Objectives/Tasks/Activities
|
The mission of the General Delegation is to
improve the use of the French language in France, to assist its lexical
enrichment, to watch over its use as an international working language, and
to promote multilinguism as a key to cultural diversity.
Its responsibility is also to protect and increase the status of the various
languages spoken in France by producing a co-ordinated policy.
It acts as secretary to the Conseil supérieur de la langue française
(CSLF), to the Commission générale de terminologie et de néologie (COGETER)
and to the Comité d’orientation pour la simplification du langage
administratif (COSLA).
