EFNIL membership in the “European Civil Society Platform for Multilingualism” (ECSPM)
As of 2015, the ECSPM (launched in 2009 by the European Commission to offer counsel on EU language education issues and multilingualism policies) is an independent NGO of European and international organisations and networks, all working together to make multilingualism work in Europe. It has also embraced a cluster of university multilingualism research centres to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects having to do with languages and literacies in superdiverse societies and create synergies so as to achieve common goals as regards multilingual citizenry. For more information see: www.ecspm.org. In 2016 EFNIL renewed its membership to the ECSPM which functions as an alliance not only for majority but also minority languages.
