Call for help from the Nederlandse Taalunie
We are forwarding a request for information of a colleague at the Nederlandse Taalunie who is preparing a report on the role, position and political-economic relevance and surplus value of (the teaching and learning of) Dutch language and culture abroad.
In doing so she tries to build on the experience of other institutions in promoting their national language.
We hereby ask our member institutions whether they know of the existence of similar reports and studies for the study of their language abroad. She is interested in statistical information (number of students, certificates) and esp. studies and figures about effect, surplus value, relevance for economic purposes, society, status, employability, mobility of work force etc…
